Job description

Bulk Environmental & Industrial is a fast-growing leading professional transportation and logistics services company providing long-haul transportation, collection, and loading of waste and other materials.

JOB SUMMARY:

The General Technician inspects, diagnoses and repairs diesel-powered vehicles and machines, like trucks, heavy equipment, and trailers. Their main duties include running diagnostic tests on vehicles, replacing the vehicles’ engine, transmission, steering mechanism or braking system and testing the vehicle to determine if they properly fixed the maintenance issue.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Perform repairs on company owned fleet of diesel engines, DPF systems, and automatic transmissions.

· Perform air brake system, differential, and whole axle repairs on company fleet.

· Perform repairs to hydraulics systems on heavy equipment and tractor-trailer wet kits on company fleet.

· Communicate with shop leadership for repair details and parts requests.

· Conduct complete inspections of vehicles at the time any repair is being performed.

· Complete all repairs efficiently and safely.

· Maintain the work area clean and free of debris or objects.

· Follow thoroughly the safety rules and OSHA compliance procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:

· At least 1 year of experience with diesel engines.

· Experience with modern diesel engines, DPF systems, and automatic transmissions.

· Experience with hydraulic systems. Heavy equipment, dump, and walking floor systems.

· Own his small and basic tools. The company provides heavier tools such as jacks, bars, and impact wrenches.

· Experience with diagnostic tools and software is a plus (JPRO, DAVIE4, CUMMINGS INSITE, SERVICE RANGER).

· ASE Certification is a plus.

· Follow thoroughly the safety rules and procedures.

· Ability to work a changing schedule based on demand.

· Must be able to work on the field when required.

This job in a dynamic environment requires being sensitive to change and responsive to changing goals, priorities, and needs. Intermittently balancing, crouching, feeling, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, lifting, mental acuity, pulling pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, talking, and visual acuity. Also requires heavy work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.

This job is located primarily in an outdoor environment with varying noise levels. There may be varying degrees of temperature. The employee may be interrupted from time to time.
