Job description

The Role

The Senior Product Manager lives within the Originations department, along with the connected areas that shape it. You set direction rather than receive it, and you're accountable for outcomes, not output. Auto lending is regulated, edge-case-heavy, and integration-dense. State-by-state variation, compliance sensitivity, and a lot of hard-won detail that never appears in a requirements doc. Navigating that well is most of the job. The rest is proximity. You'll work directly with the underwriters, funders, and dealer-facing teams who live in these workflows every day, and you'll see the results of your decisions within days rather than quarters. AI is changing how good products get built, and this role sits at the center of that for us. We expect a Senior PM to be both a strong practitioner and a multiplier: using AI to raise your own output, and raising the bar on how the PMs around you use it.

What You'll Own

Strategy and outcomes. Define what success looks like before the build, get it instrumented, and stand behind the number after. The problem space, and the judgment to prioritize within it. Live in the workflows and talk to the people in them before reaching for solutions. Separate what matters from what doesn't, and say no in a way people can follow. Problems end to end. Discovery through delivery through measurable adoption, including the ones that get hard partway through. Regulated-domain complexity. State-by-state requirements, compliance constraints, and requirements decomposition that holds up under audit. Cross-functional influence. Align engineering, design, data, compliance, and business teams, present roadmaps and trade-offs to executive leadership, and represent Arivo well with third-party partners and vendors. The AI opportunity in your domain. Find where AI actually moves the needle, whether that's a capability in the product or a smarter internal workflow, and design for human-in-the-loop where the stakes require it.

What Success Looks Like

Twelve months in, we'd expect four things to be true. You understand Originations better than anyone outside the operators themselves. The roadmap for your area is yours, and leadership trusts it enough to stop asking for the backup. At least one significant bet has shipped and you can show what it moved. And the PMs around you are doing better work because you're here.

Qualifications
  • 6+ years of product management experience, including meaningful time owning a complex domain independently
  • Comfort decomposing requirements against regulatory and state-by-state variation
  • A track record of taking problems from discovery to delivery to measurable adoption, with the metrics to show it
  • Highly analytical. Able to synthesize quantitative and qualitative insight and break ambiguous problems into structured, actionable work
  • Evidence of raising the bar on others: mentoring PMs, improving team practice, or being the person peers bring hard problems to
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including presenting roadmaps and trade-offs to executive leadership. Most communication involves technical terminology and the logical development of arguments or processes, and requires clarity of expression
  • Proven ability to align cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority
  • Strong command of Agile methods, product discovery, and delivery frameworks
  • Hands-on use of AI across the product lifecycle: discovery, requirements, analysis, and delivery, not just as a writing aid. Be ready to walk us through specific examples of what you built or changed and what it moved
Preferred
  • Loan origination, auto lending, or fintech background
  • Product ownership in another regulated, compliance-sensitive domain such as insurance or healthcare is also a strong fit
  • SQL or comparable self-service data skills
  • Familiarity with Jira and Confluence, Heap, Datadog and Slack and Google Workspace, and a roadmapping tool such as Productboard or Aha!
