Job description

Convergentz, a division of Hunton Group in Houston, TX, has an exciting opportunity for a Building Automation System (BAS) Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating BAS projects to ensure successful execution, customer satisfaction, and adherence to quality standards.

What You'll Do
  • Consult with internal teams and review project proposals to define goals, timeframes, funding limits, procedures, staffing needs, and resource allocation.
  • Develop project plans detailing strategy, schedules, risk management, contingency plans, and resource use.
  • Define the technical scope and objectives of each project, identifying deliverables, milestones, and tasks.
  • Assign duties and responsibilities to project personnel, associates, and subcontractors.
  • Direct and coordinate project activities to ensure on-time, on-budget completion.
  • Monitor and review status reports, making adjustments as necessary to keep projects on track.
  • Prepare and present status reports to management, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Manage change requests, project scope adjustments, and documentation.
  • Oversee project activities including coordination, scheduling, installations, checkouts, and third-party commissioning when applicable.
  • Approve supplier invoices and generate customer billing for assigned projects.
  • Ensure Convergentz quality standards, safety practices, and engineering protocols are followed.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors and trades to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Attend project update meetings with contractors and owners; document and communicate key outcomes.
  • Track field change information and provide feedback to improve processes.
  • Manage monthly project financial scheduling and reporting.
  • Lead with integrity by inspiring accountability, fostering teamwork, and ensuring high customer satisfaction.
  • Provide owner/operator training on the total building control system when required.

What You'll Bring
  • Education & Experience:
    • Minimum 3+ years of experience in project management, construction management, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong technical and mathematical aptitude.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; strong computer and networking knowledge.
    • Knowledge of BAS, HVAC, or building systems preferred.
  • Professional Skills:
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
    • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multitask, and perform under pressure.
    • High level of customer service, responsiveness, and business judgment.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
    • Ability to travel locally as required.
