Job description

Join the team at Neuroscience Group as a Patient Access Representative - Reception, where you'll play a key role in creating a seamless and welcoming experience for our patients. In this full-time, Monday through Friday position, you will serve as the first point of contact supporting scheduling, registration, and front-end clinic operations. Once fully trained, you will also take ownership of closing the clinic each day, ensuring workflows are completed accurately and efficiently. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, dependable, and committed to delivering exceptional patient experience in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Requirements
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for closing the clinic daily.
  • Greets all patients and guests, and responds to routine requests for information, in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Registers patients, according to practice procedures, accurately and efficiently, and ensures a high-quality experience.
  • Collects payment and verifies insurance as needed and follows HIPPA standards to ensure patient confidentiality.
  • Possesses high level of intelligence, integrity, sense of responsibility, and ability to comprehend and analyze details.
  • Exhibits emotional maturity, stability, and calm in stressful situations.
  • Utilizes creativity and critical thinking in a team supported environment.
  • Stays current with process, procedure and clinic changes and updates relative to role.
  • Participates in team building, process improvement, and skills enhancement training and events, as determined by Patient Access Manager.
  • Ensures a neat, clean, comfortable, and welcoming reception environment for our patients and guests.
  • All other duties as assigned by Patient Access Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • Commitment to excellence in patience experience
  • Two years' experience in customer service-related field.
  • Prior experience in healthcare or clinic setting preferred, ideally with experience in patient registration and appointment scheduling on a computerized system.
  • Financial knowledge as it relates to posting payments, charges, and balancing.
  • Uses relevant technology and equipment effectively and to their full capability.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping, and stretching.
  • Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports.
  • Requires occasional lifting of papers and/or boxes to an approximate 20 to 40-pound weight.
  • Work is performed in an office environment. It involves frequent contact with staff and physicians.
  • Work may be stressful at times.
