Are you skilled in building engineering, and looking for an opportunity to use your technical and people skills? Enjoy speaking with tenants, and resolving property issues for them? Then this could be the job for YOU!! This property management firm is seeking a professional Building Operations Manager for their commercial portfolio. The position will be point of contact between Property Management and the Engineering Team to facilitate high-quality building services, resolving work orders and communicating with vendors for specific needs. Responsibilities include:

  • Walking properties to identify potential maintenance issues, before they become an issue
  • Responding to tenant concerns
  • Speaking with tenants face to face to understand their work order needs
  • Troubleshooting plumbing and potential electrical needs
  • Communicating with engineers in regard to: general facilities, electrical, roofing, plumbing, HVAC, etc.
  • Scheduling preventative maintenance
  • Managing building engineering/facilities communication between Engineers, tenants and ownership
  • Speaking with vendors for TI and Construction CapEx projects
  • Working with vendors on various projects, and following up
  • Tracking work order status
  • Communicating with Property Managers and team
  • Ensuring landscaping is well kept
  • Reviewing proposals for vendors to select vendors, alongside the Property Manager
  • Setting up for special events and property projects, as needed
  • Assisting with specialty projects

Special Skills:

  • Ability to work well with others
  • Strong people skills

Must Have:

  • 3+ years of Building Engineering or Facilities Management with extensive technical knowledge in HVAC, electrical, plumbing and roofing
  • Must have commercial property management experience - not able to take someone from residential
  • Must have experience and knowledge in chillers, boilers, and refrigeration
  • Experience in working with external vendors
