Overview
Job Purpose
The New York Stock Exchange (an Intercontinental Exchange company) is seeking a Manager of Building Operations. This role is responsible for delivering a premier workplace experience by overseeing facility operations, building infrastructure, capital improvements, and day-to-day performance across the 11 Wall Street Building.
The Manager of Building Operations ensures a safe, efficient, and hospitality-driven environment for employees, tenants, and visitors. This position blends technical building expertise with a service-oriented mindset, leading projects from concept through completion, managing vendor partnerships, and collaborating closely with internal teams to support business operations, events, and occupant satisfaction.
Responsibilities
  • Foster a hospitality-focused approach to building operations, ensuring a high-quality workplace experience for employees, guests, and stakeholders.

  • Serve as a key point of contact for internal teams, providing responsive and solutions-oriented support for facility-related needs.

  • Lead and manage capital and operational projects from planning and design through construction, commissioning, and closeout.

  • Coordinate all phases of construction and improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with budget, schedule, and operational priorities.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders-including executive teams, workplace experience, and events-to support space planning, special projects, and event execution.

  • Support event installations and activations, including reviewing logistics, assessing feasibility, verifying building constraints, and ensuring safe execution.

  • Manage vendor relationships with a focus on service quality, responsiveness, and continuous improvement.

  • Negotiate contracts with consultants, contractors, and service providers to achieve best value and high performance.

  • Solicit, evaluate, and manage proposals for building improvements, maintenance services, and operational enhancements.

  • Develop, manage, and forecast capital (CapEx) and operating (OpEx) budgets, ensuring cost control and accountability.

  • Oversee daily building operations, including maintenance, engineering, and cleaning services, with a focus on reliability and presentation.

  • Maintain working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety) to support informed decision-making and issue resolution.

  • Ensure preventive maintenance programs are executed effectively to minimize downtime and optimize system performance.

  • Monitor building conditions and proactively address operational issues to maintain a first-class environment.

  • Produce clear and professional documentation including scopes of work, project reports, schedules, and operational updates.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, safety standards, and internal policies.

Knowledge and Experience
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in building operations, facilities management, construction management, or a related field.

  • Demonstrated ability to balance technical building operations with a strong hospitality or client service mindset.

  • Experience managing capital projects, vendor contracts, and budgets in a complex or high-profile environment.

  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, highly visible setting.

  • Working knowledge of building systems and infrastructure.

  • This is a full-time, on-site role requiring presence in the office five days per week.

New York Base Salary Range
The expected base salary for this role, if located in New York, is between $90,000 - 130,000 USD. The base salary range does not include Intercontinental Exchange's incentive compensation. While we provide this range as general guidance, at ICE we compensate employees based on the skillset and experience of the individual. Regular full-time ICE employees are eligible for a suite of competitive employee benefits, including healthcare coverage (medical, dental and vision), a 401(k) plan, life insurance, time off, and paid leave for qualifying circumstances.
