Material Bank

Chicago, IL

Job description

Material Bank is the world's largest material marketplace for the architecture and design industry. Operating in 37 countries, our platform has become the standard for design professionals around the globe. Every day, Material Bank connects thousands of designers with tens of thousands of materials from leading brands. Material Bank is the fastest and most powerful way for design professionals to search, sample, and specify materials.

Material Bank is looking for a Field Team Associate, Virtual Engagement, to grow our community of architecture and design professionals through digital-first prospecting, outreach, and live product demos. You'll be the driving force behind turning outbound interest into active, ordering members — building real relationships virtually, at scale, with the design professionals who power our industry.

This is an individual-contributor, external-facing role for someone who thrives on the energy of a high-volume pipeline and knows how to make every virtual touchpoint feel personal. You'll bring the discipline and hustle of a top-performing rep to a digital-first playbook — prospecting, engaging, and converting members who might otherwise never connect with Material Bank. You'll partner closely with the Field Team and Lifecycle Marketing teams, and take the lead on consolidating and reporting field performance data, giving leadership a clear, company-wide view into what's working.

This is a chance to shape how Material Bank engages an entire segment of our member community with real ownership over the outcomes you drive.

This position is based in Chicago or the Southwest, with 20% travel to support field events and key member engagements.

What You'll Do

  • Drive outbound growth of the A&D member base through LinkedIn prospecting and digital outreach
  • Lead the demo-to-activation motion, running virtual platform demos and onboarding sessions that shorten time-to-first-order
  • Reactivate lapsed members and grow the prospective pipeline through consistent, personalized digital touchpoints
  • Extend the field team's reach virtually, picking up and nurturing leads from events, firm visits, and brand rep trainings so no opportunity goes cold after the in-person moment ends
  • Own field performance reporting, consolidating activity and results across visits, events, demos, trainings, and gifting into dashboards leadership can trust — measured by accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
  • Fuel new growth-audience registrations and orders as a direct outcome of your outreach and activation work

What You'll Bring

  • 2–5 years of experience in field marketing, inside sales, business development, digital engagement, or community management
  • Experience in or strong familiarity with the architecture, interior design, or building materials industry
  • A demonstrated ability to get responses from LinkedIn and outbound outreach, not just send volume
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with genuine comfort on camera and in live virtual presentations
  • A working style built around discipline and self-motivation: someone who manages a large pipeline and a real reporting workload at the same time without letting either slip
  • Comfort building trust and connection with people you may never meet in person, and with operating cross-functionally alongside a field team whose activity you're also responsible for tracking
  • Based in Chicago or the Southwest, with the flexibility to travel roughly 20% of the time for field events and key engagements

What you'll get from us:

  • Our people: We are a growth-driven team that values efficiency, builds smart automation, operates in small empowered teams, and moves quickly from idea to execution.
  • Relaxation and Celebrations: Flexible PTO, Sick Days, Paid National Holidays, and even more (ask us about this when we connect).
  • Health Benefits: We contribute to your medical, dental, vision and short-term/long-term disability plans and have a strong employee assistance program.
  • Plan for your Retirement: 401(k) eligible after your first 90 day's employed!
  • Giving Back: We sponsor multiple events throughout the year to help out our communities.
  • Growth: We'll help you take your career to the next level. We want you to be creative and take initiative which will allow you to grow and create within the company. Most importantly, be the best at what matters!
  • Flexible Work Schedules: With business units and employees across the globe, Material Technologies has embraced a hybrid  working model allowing department leaders to decide on the best approach for their respective teams, whether that be remote, in person, or a little of both.

Material Bank is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We value diversity, and all applicants will be considered for employment without attention to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, national origin, veteran or disability status or other status protected under any applicable federal, state or local law.
