What you will do:

The Warehouse Associate is responsible for receiving, storing, picking, staging, and shipping building materials while supporting safe and efficient warehouse operations. This role helps ensure customer orders are accurately prepared, inventory is properly maintained, and materials are handled safely throughout the warehouse. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to providing excellent customer service while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Warehouse Operations & Order Fulfillment

  • Pull, stage, verify, and prepare customer orders according to work orders, pick tickets, and shipping documentation
  • Receive, inspect, unload, and store incoming inventory and materials
  • Verify product quantities, condition, and specifications prior to shipment or customer pickup
  • Load and unload company vehicles, customer vehicles, and common carriers safely and efficiently
  • Prepare products for shipment by labeling, wrapping, securing, and staging materials to prevent damage during transport

Material Handling & Equipment Operation

  • Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment
  • Move materials between receiving, storage, production, and shipping areas
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly
  • Follow established loading procedures to ensure loads are balanced, secure, and compliant with safety standards

Inventory Management

  • Maintain organized warehouse storage locations and accurate inventory records
  • Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory accuracy initiatives
  • Identify damaged, defective, or non-conforming materials and report discrepancies
  • Support inventory replenishment and proper stock rotation practices

Customer Service & Team Support

  • Assist customers and drivers with loading materials and customer pickups
  • Respond professionally to customer questions and direct inquiries as appropriate
  • Collaborate with warehouse, yard, sales, shipping, and operations teams to ensure efficient order fulfillment
  • Support branch operations by assisting with additional warehouse and operational responsibilities as assigned

Safety & Housekeeping

  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and PPE standards
  • Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free warehouse, storage, and loading areas
  • Properly dispose of packaging materials and maintain safe working conditions
  • Promote a safety-first culture by identifying and reporting hazards or unsafe conditions immediately

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, climb, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday
  • Ability to frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 75 pounds
  • Exposure to forklifts, machinery, noise, dust, and varying weather conditions
  • Ability to work overtime or weekends as business needs require
  • Frequent operation of material handling equipment and warehouse tools
