Job description

Job SummaryUnder general supervision, the Building Maintenance Technician performs routine maintenance, preventative maintenance (PM), and general repair work across golf departments. This position supports both Wigwam Golf operations by ensuring the property, equipment, and building systems remain safe, functional, and well maintained.The purpose of this position is to help maintain a clean, professional, and safe environment for members, guests, and employees while responding to maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner.Supervision

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Duties and Responsibilities including Physical Requirements

The duties and responsibilities listed below are essential to the employee's position. Not all Equipment Operators are trained or required to complete every item; however, are expected to be able perform the majority of items. Some responsibilities are seasonal in nature.

Operational responsibilities:

General Facility Maintenance - Perform routine building maintenance and repair tasks throughout the golf club. Respond to work orders and maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner. Requires frequent walking, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Painting and Cosmetic Repairs - Perform paint touch-ups, drywall patching, and minor surface repairs in guest, member, and employee areas. Requires standing for extended periods, climbing ladders, bending, and light to moderate lifting.

Preventative Maintenance Programs - Follow established preventative maintenance schedules and complete routine inspections. Maintain basic documentation of completed PM activities. Frequent walking, bending, and use of hand tools required.

Ice Machine Preventative Maintenance - Conduct routine cleaning, inspection, and maintenance of commercial ice machines. Ability to bend, reach, and lift equipment components as necessary.

Beverage and Water System Maintenance - Replace and maintain filters and components for:

  • Water softeners
  • Soda systems
  • Coffee and beverage equipment

Requires bending, kneeling, lifting, and use of hand tools.

HVAC Support - Perform basic HVAC troubleshooting, filter replacement, and preventative maintenance. Assist with vendor coordination for larger repairs. Requires climbing ladders, working in mechanical spaces, and lifting materials.

Electrical Maintenance - Replace light bulbs and fixtures. Perform basic electrical troubleshooting and minor repairs consistent with safety guidelines. Requires ladder use, reaching overhead, and working in confined spaces.

Plumbing - Perform basic plumbing tasks including clearing minor clogs, repairing drains, replacing fixtures, and maintaining pipes. Requires bending, kneeling, twisting, and lifting.

Installation and Assembly - Install shelves, wall-mounted equipment, signage, pictures, and fixtures. Requires lifting, positioning, drilling, and use of hand and power tools.

Safety and Compliance - Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Properly use personal protective equipment and report safety concerns to management.

Vendor Coordination - Assist in coordinating with outside contractors and service providers as needed. Monitor vendor work and ensure compliance with property standards.

Property Inspections - Perform routine walk-throughs of the facility to identify repair needs and ensure a safe environment.

Equipment and Tool Maintenance - Maintain tools and equipment in good working order and notify management when repairs or replacements are needed.

Conform with all safety standards and use of all appropriate safety equipment.

Performs all other duties, as assigned.

Education and Experience Required

High School Degree/GED preferred. Vocational/Trade educational experience preferred. Previous experience in facility maintenance, handyman services, or general repair required. Working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building maintenance.

At times, an individual must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple, competing tasks and demands and to seek supervisory assistance as appropriate.
