We are seeking a Building Envelope Student for our Toronto District, within our Canadian Buildings Division who is available for 4 month or 8 months starting September 2026. 

Here’s how a Building Envelope Student in our Toronto office contributes to the team:

Responsibilities
  • Reviews design documents to identify potential building envelope performance issues
  • Participates in the review of project submittals
  • Participates in project meetings and first installation reviews
  • Completes plant reviews, site reviews and/or deficiency walks
  • Attends laboratory and field testing
  • Assists with the development of remedial strategies for building envelope issues encountered by meeting with manufacturers, marking up details, and working collaboratively with the team members
  • Prepares site review reports
  • Contributes to the preparation of internal quality documents
  • Promotes and coordinate building envelope events with external experts
  • Meets with product suppliers to evaluate and obtain information on building envelope materials
  • Supports developing building envelope training material
Qualifications
  • Candidates must have taken a building envelope or building science course, and understand the fundamental control layers required within the building envelope (i.e. air, water, vapour and thermal control)
  • Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment, able to read architectural drawings, and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.
  • Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.
