Job description

Job Title: Quality Inspector

Location: Tulsa, OK

Shift: Night Shift | 4:00 PM – 3:00 AM

Schedule: Approximately 10-hour shifts, typically 50+ hours per week

Pay Rate: $25–$32 per hour, based on experience

Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire (targeting permanent placement within 60–90 days)

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Quality Inspector with hands-on knowledge of Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers and/or Pressure Vessels. This is a critical, safety-sensitive role that requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and a solid understanding of industry codes and inspection standards.

This position supports night operations and plays a key role in ensuring product quality from incoming materials through final shipment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections and report findings to the Quality Inspection Manager
  • Review and interpret radiographs (X-ray)
  • Perform Penetrant Testing (PT) and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
  • Certify and complete Data Reports
  • Coordinate code and customer inspections, including urgent night-shift jobs
  • Identify, report, and document nonconformities
  • Review and apply applicable code requirements
  • Monitor welding and manufacturing processes for compliance
  • Inspect incoming materials
  • Perform final inspections prior to shipment

Tools & Equipment Used:

  • Tape measures, steel rules, T-gauges
  • Micrometers (mechanical and digital), dial calipers
  • Weld gauges and Hi-Lo gauges
  • Magnetic particle testing equipment (dry and wet)
  • Hardness testers (Telebrineller, Mic 10, Mic 20)
  • Micro-finisher comparator
  • Chemical analyzers (SciAps Z902, Niton XL3T)
  • Dimensional scanner (Keyence WM600 3D Probe & Scanner)
  • Dye penetrant testing and X-ray interpretation tools

Must Have Qualifications:

  • Hands-on inspection experience with Pressure Vessels and/or Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers
  • Strong knowledge of inspection methods and industry codes
  • Comfortable working nights and extended hours
  • Detail-oriented with solid documentation skills
  • Able to work independently and handle time-sensitive inspections
