Your responsibilities

Position Summary: This 3rd shift position performs physical operations in the inspection cell/department. Organize cell workflow and properly plan necessary machining sequence(s) for optimal OEE. Meet all inspection requirements for compliance to the appropriate Company drawings, customer drawings, referenced specifications and other TKPS Systems or verbal instructions as applicable on all goods manufactured. These inspections will include inspection by visual, dimensional, non-destructive testing, destructive testing, and functional testing methods.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace.
  • Inspections performed in accordance with the verbal and/or written instructions of the inspector's immediate supervisor or his assigned delegates.
  • Inspections shall be performed by utilizing all available standard and special inspection and quality control equipment and techniques.
  • Document as required all findings on the appropriate records, reports and notices. Responsible for reporting all discrepancies to the immediate supervisor or an assigned delegate, and the supervisor in charge of the department in which these discrepancies are found. Assist in the determination of discrepancy causes and the requirements for corrective action.
  • Assure that all Manufacturing and Quality related tools/materials are in calibration and of the latest revision
  • Assist in the instruction of the users (other than the Quality Control personnel) of inspection equipment in the proper use, handling and care of equipment.
  • Assemble and set gauges for his/her own use and that of manufacturing. Recheck, on a periodic and as needed basis, these gauges for condition and accuracy.
  • Responsible for the accountability of unassigned inspection and quality control equipment during scheduled duty hours.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of inspection/quality control records and files during the assigned shift.
  • Assist as required any government or commercial source inspector in the performance of source inspection as directed.

Skills & Abilities and Education Requirements: Basic computer skills. Basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division of fractions and decimals. Knowledge of metric conversions. Previous machining experience with blueprint and GD&T knowledge is necessary.

Export Control: This position requires access to export-controlled technical data or technology. Employment is contingent upon thyssenkrupp's ability to obtain any required export authorization from the appropriate government agency or agencies.
