Our Colorado-based Motion Control Business Unit designs, manufactures, and tests high-performance motion control components and integrated solutions — from actuators and gearboxes to motors and precision control systems — for NASA, defense, and commercial programs, including NASA's Artemis I Mission and the Roman Space Telescope.Blue Origin is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector III to response for effective verification of manufactured or supplied product or processes against requirements. You will be highly skilled at programming and operating a CMM (Coordinate Measurement Machine), as well as effectively utilizing all standard measurement devices in Receiving Inspection. The QI applies methods and follows documentation requirements for product or process verification from established baselines including customer quality and Blue Origins quality standards. The position has responsibility for providing inputs for certification data packages, and contract quality data. The QI serves a contributing role in the analysis of process and product defect data, including root-cause, in support of the development of corrective and preventive action, and continual improvement planning. Other activities include support roles during internal and customer quality system and other quality audits.We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!Special Mentions:Expected hours from 7AM to 3:30PM with lunch break (Mon-Friday)Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Programming and operation of CMM as a subject matter expertDimensional inspection of high precision parts and evaluation of those parts to specification requirementsVerification of quality documentation, certificates of conformance, and inspection recordsGeneration of dimensional and workmanship inspection reportsIn-process quality, workmanship, and step verification approval of sub-assemblies following manufacturing standardsReview of product compliance to drawing, build, and inspection requirementsCollaboration with quality and design engineers on non-conforming material documentation and continuous process improvement methodsDocumentation and disposition of Non-ConformancesCompletes any individual tasks autonomouslyCapable of acting as a team lead on small projectsLeads inspection method reviews within the departmentAssists with the improvement and documentation of processes within the departmentMinimum Qualifications:Minimum of 7 years’ experience in PCDMIS with Hexagon Level 300 CMM competency.
