Job description

JOB TITLE: JUNIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER MANAGER

DEPARTMENT: FACILITIES

STATUS: FULL TIMEREPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF FACILITIES

POSITION SUMMARY:

Owns all lighting and lighting controls property-wide, interior, exterior, architectural, and feature, plus the Guest Room Management System (GRMS) and supporting low-voltage infrastructure. Hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and programming, with support to Facilities on daily operations and emergency calls.

RESPONSIBILITIES:Lighting: Interior & Exterior
  • Troubleshoot and repair all lighting properties wide: casino floor, guest rooms and corridors, F&B, event space, retail, pool, and back-of-house.
  • Own exterior and site lighting, façade and feature, porte-cochère, garage and lots, signage and marquee, landscape, and egress/emergency.
  • Replace lamps, drivers, ballasts, and LED modules, diagnose flicker, color shift, and dimming faults to root cause.
  • Trace and repair branch circuits, contactors, relays, and lighting panels, maintain fixture inventory and spec standards.
Lighting Controls & Programming
  • Program and commission scenes, zones, schedules, presets, and override behavior.
  • Maintain astronomical time clocks, photocells, occupancy sensors, and daylight controls, adjust seasonally, when needed.
  • Support events, features, and holiday lighting, keep configuration backups and version records current.
Guest Room Management System (GRMS)
  • Troubleshoot room controllers, sensors, thermostats, logic, control panels, drapery motors, and room scenes.
  • Program, configure and commission rooms, device swap, or firmware update, validate scenes and setback before release to inventory.
  • Respond to guest room calls quickly and discreetly, track and eliminate repeat failures.
Low Voltage
  • Install, terminate, test, and repair low-voltage cabling and devices for lighting control, GRMS, and building controls.
  • Maintain control networks, addressing, gateways, controller comms, diagnose comm loss and bus faults.
  • Keep as-builts, riser diagrams, device schedules, and labeling current.
Facility Support, Documentation & Safety
  • Support daily Facilities work orders, PMs, and guest impacting calls outside primary scope as assigned.
  • Respond to after hours and emergency calls, power loss, panel trips, life safety lighting failures.
  • Support event turnovers, contractor escort and inspection, and shutdown/restoration under senior engineering direction.
  • Document all work in the CMMS, maintain panel schedules and as-builts, support egress and emergency lighting testing records.
QUALIFICATIONS:Required
  • BS/BE in Electrical Engineering or EET.
  • 0–3 years in electrical systems, building controls, or lighting. Internship, apprenticeship, or military experience counts.
  • Working knowledge of the NEC, able to read electrical drawings, one lines, panel schedules, and control submittals.
  • Hands on troubleshooting.
  • Basic networking literacy.
Preferred
  • EIT or passed FE exam.
  • GRMS experience in hospitality.
  • Programming or commissioning on a lighting control platform.
  • Experience in a hotel, casino, resort, or other 24/7 environment.
