Job description

Do you have experience in the fire alarm trade and are looking for a new opportunity to build your established success? Do you enjoy working on a variety of different types of projects and hold a Nebraska Electrical Apprentice license? If so, we'd love to talk to you about our joining our team.

Viking Fire Protection Group in Omaha, NE is looking to expand our team! Join our team of highly skilled technicians and support staff, a team that understands the importance of fire protection. By providing world-class fire protection services and cutting-edge technology, we have earned the trust of our clients to safeguard their property against fire damage. Responsibilities:

  • Install, service, and inspect fire alarm systems
  • Use blueprints or building plans to install system based on building layout
  • Maintain and update schematics, drawings, and documentation and notify necessary parties of any changes
  • Run conduit, pull wire and install circuits for low voltage electrical systems.
  • Repair electronic components using test equipment and replacement parts
  • Ensure systems comply with electrical and fire codes
  • Explain and demonstrate system function and operation to end users
  • Exhibit excellent customer service skills by effectively communicating staff and customers
  • Complete administrative duties including completing daily service acknowledgements, safety documentation, and other related tasks

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge low voltage systems and fire alarm systems and installation
  • Proven ability to use codes and standards to install fire alarm systems
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read installation manuals, system guides, blueprints and building plans
  • Proficient with hand and power tools to install systems
  • Experience in fire alarm or high voltage installation required

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of electrical trade experience required
  • 2+ years of fire alarm experienced preferred
  • NICET Level 1 in Fire Alarm Systems preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders
  • Regularly ascend/descend ladders up to 16 feet
  • Physically able to install system hardware and wiring
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time to a height of 3-4 feet
  • Perform general job duties at an elevated height via aerial lift

Pay Range

  • Hourly rate depends on experience and abilities
