DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of the overall Building Information Modeling (BIM) process as it relates to software application and project support. Regularly engages with design teams to train staff, enhance project performance and generally support the users. Provides support to users utilizing the firm’s helpdesk ticket submittal system, iHelp. Works diligently to improve the dynamics of the BIM initiative through progressive thinking, testing, and implementation of applications. Performs other BIM application related tasks as necessary to maintain optimal performance of the process.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Understands and embraces the firm’s vision for the implementation and optimization of building information modeling (BIM) within all aspects of the firm’s services and market sectors
• Communicates among all parties within the firm involved with using BIM/3D applications to keep everyone informed of changes, updates, etc.
• Troubleshoots application issues and communicates solutions to the users; logs issues into a database for future reference
• Outlines application profile and setup for installation on BIM workstations to maintain consistency and optimization
• Creates, coordinates, and conducts ongoing BIM/3D training for operators at all levels of experience
• Maintains and updates the firm’s production manuals with training documentation and videos
• Investigates items of significance to the BIM application and keeps abreast of current trends in the computer/BIM industry
• Assists Design Technology Manager with software upgrades and deployments
• Maintains all aspects of plotting for BIM models and documents in regards to optimization of plotting solutions. Communicates with IT group any plotting needs including hardware, software, licensing and maintenance
• Works to develop, update, and maintain the firm’s BIM content library and standards with direction from the Design Technology Manager.
• Assists in the implementation of a documented process for the production of 3D modeling as part of the delivery of engineering services
• Assists other BIM support members with help tickets
• Provides technical guidance to other BIM Support team

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
KNOWLEDGE:
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Demonstrated proficient knowledge of Revit
• Demonstrated proficient knowledge of AutoCAD
• Demonstrated proficient knowledge of BIM and 3D modeling
• Demonstrated proficient knowledge of Navisworks
• Demonstrated proficient knowledge of Autodesk Construction Cloud
• General knowledge of engineering theories and methodologies

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Technical school graduate with six years of related experience OR Bachelor’s degree with four years of related experience
