Job description

Position Title: Environmental Systems Mechanic II

Job Group: Merit

Minimum Qualifications
  • Six years of experience in temperature and computerized building environmental automation systems, refrigeration or air conditioning work, including apprenticeship; or two years of experience in computerized building environmental automation systems and meets the minimum eligibility requirements of ESM I; or four years experience in above plus Journeyman’s license.
  • Refrigeration certificate of at least type 2.
  • Valid driver’s license and meet University’s Fleet Safety Program.
  • Prefer 2 years of college/trade school.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration systems.
  • Troubleshoot system issues, including air balancing, steam systems, and equipment controls.
  • Calibrate thermostats, sensors, and other electronic control components.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and complete daily work orders.
  • Respond to HVAC related service calls and resolve issues efficiently.
What to Expect

Full time, on campus position supporting student housing facilities. Participation in an on call rotation to assist with after hours needs. Work in a variety of environments, including mechanical rooms and residential spaces. Physical, hands on work with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and equipment.
