Job description

About the Role
Complete Building Services is in search of an experienced, well rounded Building Engineer, preferably with medical office building experience. The Building Engineer will oversee all aspects of the building's mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, as well as general maintenance and operations. Repairs to minor plumbing, electrical and hardware. The Building Engineer will ensure the property runs efficiently, safely, and reliably while maintaining the high standards expected in a Class A facility.
Base hours are Monday-Friday 6:30 am-3:00 pm
Flexibility is a must in case of after hour emergencies
Salary: $40-$45 dependent on experience
Location: Chantilly, VA
Major Duties:
  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly inspections of systems and associated equipment
  • Perform preventative and general maintenance on a scheduled basis
  • Maintain equipment to industry standards
  • Diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing, and electrical problems as required and/or as assigned by the supervisor
  • Provide assistance and support to sub-contractors designated to install and/or repair equipment and/or hardware as required
  • Interface with the building manager and other customer representatives to ensure client satisfaction
  • Complete daily, weekly, and/or monthly reports of system status as directed by the supervisor
  • Equipment on site - RTU PAckage units, CRAC units, Split Systems, VAV's, Ai compressors, EMS, DW heaters, etc
  • Purchase materials and supplies, and maintain inventory as required for timely work completion
  • Operate and maintain HVAC, electrical, and security systems and associated hardware and equipment as directed
  • Prepare predictive maintenance on assigned equipment to prevent breakdowns and/or outages
  • Accurately document work performed on tickets and/or work orders

You Should Have
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 10+ years experience working as a Building Engineer within a building of similar size, 102,000 sq. ft.
  • 10+ years of experience operating, maintaining, and installing mechanical equipment
  • Experience managing subcontractors
  • Must be able to manage building EMS
  • Must have excellent communication/people skills
  • Available for on-call
