Job description

Description

We are looking for a dependable, hands-on Engineer to join our team. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe, comfortable, and well-functioning hotel through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.

The ideal candidate has experience with HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, and general building maintenance, enjoys solving problems, and takes pride in providing excellent service to our guests and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs throughout the hotel.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC systems, including air handling units and related equipment.
  • Perform routine plumbing repairs, including faucets, toilets, drains, valves, and water lines.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot ice machines, refrigeration units, chillers, pumps, and other mechanical equipment.
  • Respond promptly to guest and team member maintenance requests.
  • Follow maintenance programs, work orders, cleaning schedules, and safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
  • Assist with inventories and proper handling of tools, equipment, and chemicals.
  • Communicate maintenance concerns and equipment issues to leadership.
  • Be available to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of maintenance or engineering experience, preferably in a hotel or commercial property.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with commercial refrigeration, ice machines, chillers, and mechanical systems preferred.
  • General knowledge of electrical, carpentry, painting, and other building maintenance.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently.
  • Customer-service oriented with a positive, professional approach.
  • Ability to read and follow safety, operating, and maintenance instructions.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
  • Full-time position with benefits. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability may be required.
