Job description

We offer a single-source solution for a complete range of facilities services, including equipment repair and replacement, preventive and predictive maintenance, and facility and equipment operations. We manage, service, and maintain the sophisticated facilities and systems that help our clients keep their competitive edge.


Operate,  monitor and repair boiler plant under the direction of  Massachusetts 3rd Class Stationary Engineer.  Carry out preventive maintenance tasks as scheduled or requested.  Communicates with Chief Engineer and Facility Manager on a regular basis generates logs and/or reports as required

  1. Reports to EFS Account Manager or Stationary 3rd Class Engineer (MA).
  2. Cooperates with and assists others in a common effort to promote goodwill and Company growth.
  3. Perform additional duties as requested by the Stationary 3rd Class Engineer or Client representative.

  1. Holds a current license as a 2nd Class Fireman (MA).
  2. Ability to operate valves and associated HVAC components.
  3. Ability to climb 20 feet on a ladder maintaining balance to perform work/repairs.
  4. Knowledge of HVAC equipment to enable proper servicing and repairs.
  5. Ability to effectively communicate with customers/tenants orally or in print.
  6. Operate boiler plant
  7. Perform calculations for utility use, watch steam etc.
  8. Assist any licensed tradesperson as required.
  9. Make recommendations to supervisor on any defective equipment in his/her area of responsibility.
  10. Keep accurate time sheets.
  11. Submit as required all logs and report for all work done.
  12. Repair and troubleshoot gas and oil-fired burners, HVAC equipment and related controls as applies.
  13. Make periodic building rounds to check all boiler plant equipment and keep accurate log sheets as required.
  14. Ensure safe working conditions are being maintained in areas under his/her care, reporting any safety violations to supervisor.

  1. Minimum 3 to 5 years direct experience in boiler operations and maintenance.
  2. State issued 2nd Class Fireman License
  3. Strong communication skills both written and verbal along with good customer service skills.
