Royal Caribbean Group's Decarbonization Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full-time Senior Manager, Decarbonization reporting to the Senior Director, Decarbonization.
This position will work onsite in Miami, Florida.
This position is not eligible for work authorization sponsorship.
Position Summary:
The Senior Manager, Decarbonization is a key execution leader responsible for owning defined decarbonization workstreams and converting the enterprise decarbonization roadmap into measurable outcomes across fleet operations and the newbuild pipeline. The role supports disciplined governance, value tracking, and decision support, working as a day-to-day integrator across Marine Operations, Newbuilding, Supply Chain, Finance, and other partners to ensure decarbonization initiatives are delivered with rigor and pace.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Workstream ownership: strategy-to-execution translation
- Own end-to-end delivery of assigned decarbonization workstreams (e.g., energy efficiency, enabling technologies, operational measures, digital optimization, compliance enablement), translating long-term ambition into near- and mid-term execution plans.
- Identify relevant decarbonization levers within scope, clarify what success looks like, and ensure delivery plans are grounded in operational reality.
2) Program governance & delivery cadence (PM discipline)
- Establish clear workstream charters including scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, decision points, and success criteria.
- Ensure consistent project status reporting and stakeholder cadence aligned to agreed frameworks/charters (e.g., weekly working cadence, monthly steering updates), escalating blockers and driving actions to closure.
- Maintain disciplined tracking of schedule, scope, and value delivery for assigned initiatives, supporting enterprise governance and value-tracking mechanisms.
3) Structured problem solving, analytics & decision support
- Conduct high-quality quantitative and qualitative analysis to size opportunities, evaluate trade-offs, and inform priorities within assigned workstreams.
- Synthesize complex technical, regulatory, and operational inputs into structured options and recommendations; prepare decision-ready materials for leadership.
- Prepare high-quality presentations, reports, memos, and workshop materials that drive clarity, alignment, and decisions
- Own analytical modelling of emissions trajectories, abatement costs, and compliance exposure across multi-brand operations.
- Quantify financial implications of decarbonization initiatives, including OpEx and CapEx forecasting, ROI, and scenario analysis.
- Support evaluation of low-carbon fuel sourcing opportunities and strategic investments through financial modeling and market benchmarking.
- Monitor evolving regulatory and carbon pricing landscapes to anticipate cost impacts and advise on risk mitigation measures.
4) Stakeholder orchestration & workshop facilitation
- Orchestrate cross-functional stakeholder interactions to establish alignment and a shared understanding of priorities, milestones, and delivery trade-offs.
- Design and facilitate workshops and working sessions to accelerate scope definition, problem solving, and delivery execution across functions and geographies
5) Decarbonization content leadership
- Maintain strong working knowledge of maritime decarbonization levers (energy efficiency, alternative fuels, shore power, battery electrification, enabling technologies, digital optimization, operational measures) and translate insights into execution priorities.
- Proactively monitor relevant regulatory and industry developments, assess implications, and recommend necessary actions or adjustments to plans.
6) Knowledge building & capability uplift
- Create reusable playbooks, templates, and lessons learned (e.g., charter templates, KPI definitions, reporting packs, governance cadence) to improve delivery consistency and speed.
- Contribute to a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the decarbonization team and partners.
7) People leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop 1-2 direct reports; set clear accountability and build strong ownership for deliverables and outcomes.
- Lead effectively with and without direct authority, inspiring execution across stakeholders and functions.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • 10-12 years of relevant experience, including demonstrated ownership of cross-functional programs/projects and (ideally) initial people leadership or team mentorship
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex programs/projects end-to-end with cross-functional stakeholders (program management, delivery planning, cadence, and status reporting).
  • Experience working with decarbonization and climate policy/regulation topics (maritime context preferred, or strong ability to ramp quickly).
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to deliver high-quality structured options and steering for decisions.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills; ability to resolve conflicts, influence without authority, and ensure cross-functional alignment.
  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills; ability to produce executive-ready materials.
  • Travel flexibility as required.

Success Profile:
  • Entrepreneurial energizer who creates momentum: proactively identifies opportunities, turns ideas into practical pilots, and drives progress through ambiguity with pace and optimism.
  • Disciplined program leader: runs a strict delivery cadence (charters, milestones, risks, decisions, and benefits tracking) and reliably lands outcomes, not just activity.
  • Innovative, creative problem-solver: challenges the status quo, uses out-of-the-box thinking, and translates emerging technology/regulatory signals into actionable execution plans.
  • Trusted cross-functional integrator: influences without authority, aligns stakeholders quickly, resolves conflict constructively, and unblocks delivery across Marine Ops, Newbuild, Supply Chain, Finance, and partners.

We know there's a lot to consider. As you go through the application process, our recruiters will be glad to provide guidance, and more relevant details to answer any additional questions. Thank you again for your interest in Royal Caribbean Group. We'll hope to see you onboard soon!
