Job description

CAFCO Group seeks an experienced Expeditor to perform technical and administrative tasks related to the review of New York City permits on behalf of the New York City School Construction Authority (SCA). The successful candidate will manage the permit filing and approval process with various City agencies, ensure document completeness and compliance with NYC Building Code, and support the timely delivery of capital construction projects across the City's public school system.

Required Qualifications:

· High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) from an accredited program

· Three (3) years of full-time experience performing construction document review, zoning compliance, filing and facilitating permit approval, and researching property status with NYC agencies

· Demonstrated knowledge of NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) permit filing procedures and building code requirements

· Experience working with Plan Examiners and City agency review processes

· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple permit submissions simultaneously

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with NYC DOB online portals preferred

Key Responsibilities:

· Review documents submitted for City required building and other permits for completeness and accuracy

· Provide support to permit applicants in completing the filing procedure with various City agencies

· Deliver documents to various City agencies for data entry, review, and/or approval

· Work closely with Plan Examiners in reviewing documents for compliance with NYC Building Code

· Research existing building status from City records at various agencies

· Track permit status, approvals, and outstanding items to ensure timely project delivery

· Maintain organized records of all permit submissions, approvals, and correspondence

· Coordinate with Project Officers and construction teams regarding permit requirements and status updates

· Perform other related tasks as assigned

· Fast-paced environment requiring strong organizational and time management skills
