Job description

Job Summary:
Immediate Opening in our King of Prussia office for the Building Envelope Director a minimum 10 years' experience in Building Envelope restoration projects, historic preservation projects, investigations and assessments of building system deficiencies, site condition assessment and construction documents.
The Director / Division Manager is responsible for assisting the Executive VP of overseeing and guiding the team of engineers and project managers in ensuring the delivery of high-quality services, fostering client relationships and providing strategic direction. Oversee that projects are completed on time and within budget and the final work product conforms to contract and applicable code, as well as meeting the work product standards set within the company.
Estimated salary range for this position is $135,000 to $180,000 in addition to bonus. The salary listed is an estimate and not guaranteed. The salary offered will vary based on experience, education, skills, abilities, and certifications/license
Work Experience
  • Ten plus years of experience at a minimum, in the architectural and engineering consulting industry.
  • Experience in Building Envelope and litigation is required.
Licenses & Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture /Civil /Structural Engineering or related fields required.
  • Professional Engineer or Registered Architect license is strongly preferred.
  • OSHA-10 Certification
  • SAIA OSHA 29 Swing Scaffolding Training
  • Valid United States Drivers License
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Business development, which involves attendance at marketing functions, business dinners/ events, and cross marketing with other offices.
  • Maintains and develops client relations for new and larger established existing customers, assuring all existing customers are contacted regularly to ensure customer satisfaction and develop need-based marketing relations.
  • Ensures adherence to project, project plans, and timelines to be met by internal and external resources.
  • Assists the Principals / Executive Vice Presidents with communicating and enforcing values, policies, and procedures.
  • Prepare proposals, track project budgets and review internal invoices before issuing them to clients.
  • Reviews of all reports, letters, bids, specifications, construction drawings, exhibits, etc. written by staff.
  • Delegates project work to Engineers, Architects, Project Managers & Project Associates.
  • Reviews drawings plans and specifications.
  • Verifies schedules, ensures adherence to project plans and timelines to be met by internal and external resources.
  • Reviews and approves change orders.
  • Conducts on-site inspections, documents existing conditions, and performs field testing, photographing, the creation of hand sketches and observe work in progress.
  • Maintains organized records, files, drawings, or other data essential to the project and ensure they are complete and filed appropriately.
  • Preparation of written correspondence with clients, attorneys, contractors etc.
  • Prepares investigation reports and bid documents, including drawings and technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of NJ local laws, local and state building codes, and ability to apply to work.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management related field.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to:
    • Lift/ Carry up to 40 lbs. (ladders, hammers, harness equipment, etc.).
    • Safely work at heights.
      • Work on suspended scaffolding on the exterior of the building high above ground (secured and protected).
    • Safely use and/or operate ladders, lifts, and other access equipment.
