Job Description

Purpose: 

Develop,maintain, and coordinate electrical design deliverables that support the execution of renewable energy projects. Collaborate with engineering, preconstruction, construction, and project teams to ensure design documentation and construction files are complete, accurate, and ready for execution.Support the development of project-specific wire routing documentation, constructible installation details, and standardized design applications in accordance with company standards and engineering direction. 

Responsibilities 

  • Own the development and maintenance of electrical design drawings and construction documents for assigned projects. 
  • Coordinate design deliverables with engineering, preconstruction, project management, procurement, and construction teams. 
  • Develop and maintain 2D and 3D models of electrical equipment, systems, and site layouts. 
  • Develop project-specific installation details, equipment layouts, wire routing plans, and construction documentation utilizing established company standards and design assemblies, including transformers, switchgear, inverters, combiners, motors, racking systems, wire management, and equipment pads. 
  • Develop and maintain project-specific material takeoffs, conduit schedules, conductor schedules, and other design documentation in accordance with company standards and approved project designs. 
  • Support development of wire precut packages by creating routing information, conductor schedules, equipment termination information, and quantity verification documentation. 
  • Utilize approved assembly standards, installation details, and bill of material definitions when developing project design deliverables and material documentation. 
  • Assist with validation of project quantities and identify discrepancies between design documents, procurement assumptions, and field installation requirements. 
  • Ensure design documents areaccurate, coordinated across disciplines, and reflect project requirements, manufacturer recommendations (i.e. equipment spacing), and approved engineering decisions. 
  • Support development of constructible details for wire management systems, combiners, equipment stub-ups, inverter installations, DAS systems, grounding systems, and other balance-of-system applications. 
  • Utilize and follow established company drafting standards, templates, assemblies, and design practices. 
  • Collaborate with senior designers, engineers, and project teams by providing feedback and improvement recommendations for drafting standards, templates, and standardized installation details. 
  • Reconcile design documents with field conditions and support the development of as-built documentation. 
  • Support field teams through design clarification, layout coordination, and resolution of drawing-related issues during project execution. 
  • Identifydesign conflicts, constructability concerns, and coordination issues and elevate them to theappropriate projectstakeholders. 
  • Support continuous improvement of design processes, drafting standards, templates, and project execution practices. 
Qualifications

  • High School diploma 
  • AAS Degree/Diploma in Design/Drafting 
  • Proficiency in both AutoCAD and Bluebeam 
  • 1+ year of relevant experience Electrical drafting. 
  • Experience working in Autodesk Revit for Electrical Design and other disciplines. 
  • Detail oriented, professional attitude, good communicator, team player, self-starter. 
  • Basic understanding of Architectural, Electrical, Civil, and structural engineering construction practices and drawings. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams, Excel, and Outlook.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $50,000-$80,000 per year + bonus potential.
