Senior Facilities Manager (Evergreen) - JLL

What this job involves: As a Senior Facilities Manager (Evergreen) supporting our pharmaceutical client, you'll oversee the comprehensive facilities management operations across both GMP-compliant and non-GMP environments. This role demands a strategic leader who can ensure operational excellence while maintaining the stringent regulatory standards critical to pharmaceutical manufacturing. You'll be responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of complex facilities infrastructure, including HVAC systems, clean rooms, utilities, and building automation systems. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll develop and execute facilities strategies that support production continuity, regulatory compliance, and business objectives.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Lead and mentor a team of facilities technicians and engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement

  • Oversee daily operations of GMP and non-GMP facilities, ensuring all systems meet pharmaceutical industry standards and regulatory requirements including FDA, EMA, and other applicable guidelines

  • Manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs for critical utilities such as HVAC, clean rooms, compressed air systems, purified water systems, and building automation systems

  • Coordinate and oversee capital improvement projects, working with engineering teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with GMP standards

  • Conduct regular facility inspections and audits to identify risks, ensure compliance, and drive corrective actions when needed

  • Serve as the primary liaison between JLL and the pharmaceutical client, building strong relationships and ensuring service delivery exceeds expectations

  • Develop and manage the facilities budget, tracking expenditures, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and providing detailed financial reporting

  • Lead emergency response efforts and business continuity planning to minimize operational disruptions and protect critical production environments

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation including standard operating procedures, maintenance records, change controls, and validation protocols required for regulatory inspections

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of facilities management experience with at least 3 years in pharmaceutical, biotech, or similarly regulated environments

  • Demonstrated expertise in GMP regulations and their application to facilities operations, including experience supporting FDA or other regulatory inspections

  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, clean room operations, utilities management, and building automation systems in pharmaceutical settings

  • Proven leadership experience managing teams of technicians and engineers with the ability to develop talent and drive performance

  • Excellent project management skills with experience overseeing capital projects from conception through commissioning

  • Strong financial acumen including budget development, cost management, and vendor negotiation

  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with clients, senior leadership, and cross-functional teams

Preferred qualifications:

  • Professional certifications such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Project Management Professional (PMP), or similar credentials

  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and building management systems in pharmaceutical environments

  • Knowledge of LEED, sustainability initiatives, and energy management programs

  • Experience with validation protocols, qualification processes (IQ/OQ/PQ), and change control management in regulated environments

  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and how facilities infrastructure supports production operations
