Job description

American Mechanical, inc. (AMi) – iQ Controls, a leading provider of Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) services is seeking a highly motivated Building Automation Project Manager to join our team. AMi is a design/build/maintain mechanical services provider engaged in providing comprehensive maintenance, repair, replacement, and new equipment installation services for heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and indoor air quality systems and energy management services in commercial and industrial buildings.

Our controls department specializes in turnkey building automation systems, energy management systems, and control system maintenance for commercial and industrial users. Our customers primarily include office buildings, refineries, airports, universities, laboratories, developers and property managers.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible to acquire new business, plan, execute, and finalize Controls projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan.
  • Perform design, including sequence of operation development, wiring diagram development, control sequence programming, system and equipment selection, specifications and code compliance.
  • Develop controls sequence of operations, shop drawings, purchases and ensures that materials for construction are on-site as needed, device programming, device wiring, and fieldwork to consist of site commissioning/reporting, low voltage electrical wiring, field diagnostics, customer training, customer support through the warranty period and beyond.
  • Site Survey and field verification
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent work experience
  • 5-10 years of HVAC industry experience with concentration in Building Automation Controls
  • 5 years of experience in a supervisory role within the industry
  • Knowledge of DDC control systems
  • Knowledge of Tridium, Niagara, BACNet, Lon and Modbus protocols

The successful candidates shall possess strong Autocad and programming skills as well as social, written and verbal communication skills to interface with clients, architects, engineers, and construction personnel.
