BAS Controls Field Technician (HVAC)

Building Automation Systems | HVAC Controls | DDC Controls |Commercial & Industrial

We are seeking a skilled BAS Field Service Technician to join a growing team supporting commercial and industrial building automation systems. This role is ideal for a hands-on technician who enjoys troubleshooting, servicing, and optimizing HVAC control systems in the field.

You will play a key role in maintaining and improving system performance across a variety of facilities, ensuring efficient and reliable operation.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair BAS / HVAC control systems
  • Perform service, maintenance, and system upgrades on building automation systems
  • Work with DDC controls including programming adjustments and sequence verification
  • Respond to service calls and support emergency troubleshooting as needed
  • Calibrate and service sensors, actuators, VFDs, and controllers
  • Interface with customers to explain issues, solutions, and system performance
  • Read and interpret control drawings, wiring diagrams, and sequences of operation
  • Utilize front-end software (Niagara, Metasys, Siemens, etc.) for system diagnostics
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field teams
  • Document service work, deficiencies, and recommended repairs

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience with BAS / HVAC Controls / Building Automation Systems
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with DDC controls and HVAC systems
  • Experience with platforms such as Niagara, Johnson Controls (Metasys), Siemens, Honeywell, or similar
  • Ability to read and understand control schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Working knowledge of HVAC equipment (AHUs, RTUs, chillers, boilers, VAVs)
  • Basic understanding of networking (IP, BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks)
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally to job sites
