Job description

Description
We build fast, we build right, and we need a field leader who can own a job site from day one. If you've got the instincts to walk onto a site and immediately bring order, the leadership to move a crew forward, and the drive to keep improving, Axe Builders may be the opportunity you've been looking for.
Axe Builders is a rapidly growing construction company scaling across Philadelphia. We're not looking for someone to punch a clock; we want a builder who takes ownership, drives results, and grows with us. This is a chance to join at the right moment: big enough to offer real resources and projects, small enough that your impact is immediately felt.
In this role, you'll run day-to-day field operations across active Philadelphia job sites, coordinating subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to keep work sequenced and moving. You'll enforce safety standards and quality expectations without compromise, track schedules and budgets, and surface issues before they become problems.
The right person for this role has three to five years of experience managing construction sites or projects and leads naturally. Crews follow you because you've earned it. You're sharp on schedules and scopes, comfortable holding subcontractors accountable, and able to communicate clearly with owners, project managers, and tradespeople alike. You stay calm under pressure, make decisions when it counts, and you're still hungry to grow.
If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you!
Compensation
  • Base Salary: $80,000 - $90,000
  • Performance-based bonuses
  • Paid Time Off

Responsibilities
• Oversee day-to-day construction operations on site, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and according to project plans and specifications
• Lead field execution by managing subcontractors, trades, and site logistics to maintain productivity and workflow
• Create and maintain short-term project schedules, including 2-week and 4-week look-ahead schedules to keep projects on track
• Coordinate the sequencing of trades and construction activities to ensure work progresses according to the project timeline
• Enforce job site safety protocols through daily oversight, inspections, and corrective actions when necessary
• Maintain high standards of workmanship by conducting site inspections, managing punch lists, and addressing quality concerns in real time
• Provide field verification and scope validation to support the Project Manager's billing and cost tracking
• Identify field-driven changes early and communicate them to the Project Manager to support accurate change order management
• Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and design teams to address constructability questions and site challenges
• Manage foremen, subcontractors, and field labor to ensure projects are properly staffed and coordinated
• Maintain daily logs, site documentation, inspections, and progress tracking for each project
• Identify site risks, sequencing issues, or constructability concerns and implement practical solutions to keep projects moving forward
• Communicate regularly with the Project Manager regarding schedule updates, field challenges, and project progress
• Execute warranty-related work with subcontractors as directed by the Project Manager when needed
• Escalate safety, technical, or project concerns to the Project Manager when necessary
Qualifications
• Approximately 2-5 years of construction management, site supervision, or similar field experience
• Ability to confidently manage a job site and coordinate multiple moving parts
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites within Philadelphia
• Candidates within approximately 30 minutes of the city are strongly preferred
