Job description
- Support Annual Planning and Budgeting
- Support the development and execution of the organization's annual budgeting process, ensuring forecasts are accurate, realistic, and aligned to organizational priorities
- Build and manage detailed work plans and timelines to ensure successful budget development and stakeholder alignment
- Support planning processes tied to key requirements (e.g., LCAP metrics, enrollment planning, and contingency scenarios)
- Support School and Regional Financial Partnership
- Grow to serve as a financial advisor to a portfolio of schools (5-10), supporting budget development, multi-year planning, and day-to-day financial decision-making
- Partner with Regional Directors and school leaders to drive strong financial outcomes through data-informed planning and proactive support
- Monitor financial performance, analyze trends in spending, and recommend solutions to improve resource allocation and sustainability
- Support Compensation and other key cost drivers
- Support the Director of Finance to conduct market benchmarking and update compensation structures to ensure equity, competitiveness, and financial sustainability
- Lead financial planning and oversight of centralized cost areas, including technology, expanded learning programs, and partner with functional leaders to align budgets, monitor spend, and support long-term cost planning
- Support financial analysis and performance management
- Conduct financial analyses to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making
- Monitor budget-to-actual performance and identify risks and opportunities
- Support scenario planning and recommend adjustments to maintain financial targets
- Contribute to the finance team's priorities and continuous improvement of planning tools, processes, and systems
- Support financial grant management

- Proficiency in financial systems and tools (e.g., Adaptive, Excel/Google Sheets); ability to build and improve models and planning tools
- Ability to build strong relationships and partner effectively with non-finance stakeholders (e.g., school leaders, regional teams)
- Experience supporting or leading budgeting processes and financial forecasting
- Understanding of key financial drivers in an education or nonprofit setting (e.g., enrollment, staffing, program costs)
