## Budget Operations SpecialistApplylocations: Highland, CAtime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Todayjob requisition id: R0017523Under the direction of the Sr Manager, Administration - CPSO, the Budget Operations Specialist is responsible for the coordination of operational, budgetary, fiscal and administrative aspects related to the support of various departments under the Chief Physical Security Officer (CPSO).**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**1. Develops, analyzes, and maintains departmental annual budgets across multiple cost centers; compiles and analyzes financial data and trends, prepares budget estimates with justification, provides relevant recommendations, and ensures timely submission of required documentation in alignment with department standards. 2. Monitors expenditures by tracking capital projects, vendor invoices, reconciling purchase orders, and verifying payment accuracy using financial accounting systems; reviews and verifies invoices for accuracy against budget, purchase orders, and/or contracts and agreements; Prepares and analyzes monthly expenditure and staffing reports for departmental management. 3. Conducts quantitative and qualitative assessments to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement; assesses various cost benefit scenarios; preforms โ€œwhat-ifโ€ analysis; recommends data-driven strategies to enhance reporting accuracy and operational efficiency. 4. Provides administrative, planning, and technological support across CPSO departments by drafting, formatting, and revising internal documents, agreements, and correspondence; maintains and updates databases and dashboards and ensures timely data entry and retrieval for reporting and decision-making. 5. Collaborates with the Senior Manager and departmental leadership to ensure continuity of operations during absences; contributes to strategic planning discussions, supports policy implementation, and assists in monitoring progress toward departmental goals. 6. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.**EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS*** Bachelorโ€™s degree in business administration, accounting, or finance or related field required.* Minimum four (4) yearsโ€™ experience managing multi-cost center budgets, tracking expenditures, reporting result and trends, or closely related work required.* Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)*** Ability to apply relevant math skills, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing numbers, as well as working with decimals and percentages.* Experience in the ability to evaluate, audit, deduce, and/or assess data in determining actual or probable consequences and in referencing such evaluations to identify and select alternatives.* Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, including the ability to identify needs and requirements, develop recommendations, and evaluate outcomes against goals and objectives.* Ability to manage large data sets to identify patterns and trends.* Must possess the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; demonstrate ability to think creatively and strategically, articulate complex issues to a wide audience, and prepare written assessments as needed.* Must have advance knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint.* Requires the ability to maintain a strict level of confidentiality and act in a manner consistent with all legal and regulatory requirements and in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.**LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS*** At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.* No Driving Responsibilities: Role does not require a driverโ€™s license or insurance.**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORKING CONDITIONS โ€“ ENVIRONMENT**The physical demands and working environment described here are representative of those that an employee encounters and must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.* Primary work environment is in a climate-controlled office setting.* Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.* Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts.* Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.* Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally.* Sedentary work: involves sitting most of the time. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.* Physical activities that apply to the essential functions of the position are balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.* Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person, via videoconference and over the telephone.* Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, via videoconference and over the telephone.* Visual acuity that meets the requirements of the position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading and visual inspection of employees, visitors or facility.* Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter/exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties.* Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.* The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke.Reasonable accommodation will be made in compliance with all applicable law. #J-18808-Ljbffr
