Job description

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead our accounting department and oversee all daily financial operations. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, managing month-end and year-end closing processes, and maintaining compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills who can provide actionable financial insights to senior management.

 Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable (A/P), accounts receivable (A/R), and general ledger activities.
Lead full-cycle month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all deadlines are met.
Ensure adherence to GAAP and all federal, state, and local regulations. Coordinate and lead annual audits with external firms.
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the performance of junior accounting staff.
Establish and maintain internal control systems to safeguard company assets and minimize financial risk.
Identify inefficiencies and implement automated systems or new procedures to streamline workflows.

 Desired Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management capacity.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., PivotTables, VLOOKUPs) and experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) software such as SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks.
Deep understanding of GAAP and tax laws.
Ability to interpret complex financial data into meaningful insights for decision-makers.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
High level of precision in data management and reporting to prevent costly errors.
Commitment to transparency and high ethical standards in all financial matters.
