Job Description & Requirements Specialty: NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/22/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Sep 22, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 4 Description American Traveler is hiring a Level 4 NICU RN for a night shift travel contract requiring BSN, 2 years of Level 4 NICU experience, and an active OR RN license. Details Level 4 Neonatal ICU with 46 beds caring for critically ill, convalescing, and growing premature and term newborns Admissions come from the facility's own high-risk perinatal department as well as transports from Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Hawaii Specialist support available including endocrine, pulmonary, genetics, renal, metabolic, ophthalmology, neurology, general pediatric surgery, and cardiothoracic surgery Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30) Weekend requirement No on-call responsibilities Floating required within the hospital only, not to sister hospitals Requirements Active RN license required (OR license) BSN required Minimum 2 years of Level 4 NICU experience required BLS and NRP certifications required PALS and STABLE certifications preferred Epic charting experience required Teaching hospital and Level I Trauma experience preferred Previous charge nurse experience preferred Skilled in respiratory care including Bubble CPAP, tracheostomy care/management, and ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP) PA line experience preferred COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions accepted Two manager or supervisor references from within the last 24 months required (charge RN references not accepted) Additional Information Facility is a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma Center and teaching hospital Nurses participate in the education of students and pediatric residents as part of a family-centered care model First-time travelers accepted with 3 years of experience Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction RTO requests limited to a maximum of 1-2 weeks and must be submitted upfront Former OHSU employees or travelers must have a 6 month gap before returning, and returning candidates require a reference from their previous OHSU manager Scrubs are provided for OR assignments with no prints allowed American Traveler Job ID P-748479.
