BSN programs typically take four years to complete and cover topics such as nursing science, anatomy, physiology, leadership, and patient care. Graduates are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN exam to become licensed as registered nurses. Many employers prefer or require nurses to have a BSN, especially for leadership or specialized roles.
