This 100-bed hospital provides top-quality patient care to the communities in and around Martin County. Here, you will work alongside passionate physicians,nursesand other caregivers in a family-oriented, supportive environment.

Martin South Hospital's Emergency Department has multi-disciplinary careteams,and leading-edge technology needed to diagnose and treat patients efficiently and effectively, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.As an RN, you will deliver exceptionalcarethroughout the patient care journey. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed.This is a fast-paced environment that will allow you to advance your nursing skills each day. Here, you will alsohave the opportunity togainadditionalcertifications and move into other positions such asTeam Lead or other nursing leadership roles.

A caregiver in this position worksnightsfrom7:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record and communicate patients' conditions.
  • Evaluate, update and revise plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and family with educational materials considering cultural issues and other special concerns
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with approved nursing protocol

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing(Diploma,ADNor BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or American Red Cross
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS American Red Cross certification upon hire or within one year of beginning work in the Emergency Department
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or American Red Crossupon hire or within one year of beginning work in the Emergency Department
  • One yearof current acute care RN experienceand/or Emergency Department experienceORlicensed military RN experience
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC - adult) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC - pediatric) upon hire or within24 monthsof beginning work in the Emergency Department

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Bachelor'sofScience inNursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
