How much do bsn nursing jobs pay per year?
What is a BSN in nursing?
What jobs can a Bsn Nursing get you?
What is the difference between Bsn Nursing vs Registered Nurse?
| Aspect | Bsn Nursing | Registered Nurse |
|---|---|---|
| Credentials | Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree | Licensed RN, often with an associate degree or diploma |
| Work Environment | Hospitals, clinics, community health, administrative roles | Hospitals, clinics, long-term care, community settings |
| Industry Usage | Educational requirement for many advanced roles | Entry-level nursing practice, licensing required |
Both Bsn Nursing and Registered Nurse roles require passing the NCLEX exam. A Bsn Nursing degree provides a broader educational foundation, often opening doors to leadership, specialized, or advanced practice roles. Registered Nurses are licensed practitioners providing direct patient care. While all Bsn Nurses are RNs, not all RNs hold a Bsn degree. The choice depends on career goals and educational preferences.
What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a BSN nurse?
What are some common challenges new BSN nurses face during their first year on the job?

Job Description
Lead. Inspire. Transform.
At Chamberlain University, we are seeking a dynamic and visionary Dean, Academic Affairs (Nursing) – Program Director—a leader who is empowering, influential, inspiring, and deeply passionate about advancing nursing education. In this role, you will serve as the Program Director overseeing the Charlotte campus nursing program, guiding academic integrity, operational excellence, and the continued growth of our BSN program. You will champion student success, cultivate a high‑performing academic team, and ensure our curriculum and learning experience remain exceptional and future‑focused.
As part of this leadership role, you will support the expansion of our Evening and Weekend Program, requiring availability during evenings and weekends to ensure seamless program delivery and student success.
If you are energized by shaping the next generation of nurses, empowering faculty, and driving outcomes that matter—this is your opportunity to lead with purpose and impact.
What You’ll Lead
Academic Strategy & Student Success
- Execute the BSN academic strategy with a focus on driving strong student outcomes (NCLEX pass rates, persistence, graduation, and student satisfaction).
- Actively support and own academic strategy and curriculum change from the center.
- Lead program expansion, including the Evening and Weekend Program, ensuring operational excellence and flexibility.
- Drive new academic initiatives with agility and vision, responding to evolving healthcare education needs.
Curriculum Excellence & Compliance
- Ensure curriculum delivery meets institutional standards and accreditation benchmarks through rigorous evaluation and continuous improvement.
- Serve as the primary liaison with the Board of Nursing, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Lead and coordinate site visits and accreditation reviews, maintaining program readiness and excellence.
- Manage academic operations with national support teams, budgets, faculty workload models, and instructional resources.
- Embed Chamberlain Care principles and Covista culture expectations into academic operations and support services.
Faculty Leadership & Team Development
- Build and lead a high-performing academic team—faculty, lab, experiential learning teams, and support—aligned to student success.
- Oversee hiring, onboarding, development, scheduling, performance, and retention of faculty and associate deans.
- Ensure appropriate faculty coverage and support for evening and weekend programming.
- Partner with ADAAs to ensure high faculty engagement and low regrettable turnover.
- Ensure faculty are retained, continuously improving, and achieving their goals.
Program Oversight & Leadership
- Serve as Program Director for the Charlotte campus, with full accountability for program performance, student outcomes, and operational effectiveness.
- Ensure successful execution and sustainability of the campus-based BSN program, including expanded delivery models.
Collaboration, Partnership & Representation
- Serve as liaison to boards, communities, and internal stakeholders with professionalism and care.
- Represent the program in regulatory, accreditation, and community engagements.
- Work as a team—coordinating closely with the Executive Director, DAAs, and ADAAs to support student and business outcomes.
Key Behaviors for Success
- Prioritize student success: Anticipate and respond to student needs and empower faculty to remove barriers.
- Connect to the vision: Inspire your team by linking daily work to Chamberlain’s mission.
- Strive to improve: Use data, feedback, and innovation to enhance outcomes.
- Work as a team: Collaborate across campus and national teams.
- Own outcomes: Demonstrate accountability, integrity, and celebrate achievements.
What Success Looks Like
- Strong student outcomes, including NCLEX pass rates at or above the national BSN average.
- High student engagement and satisfaction (NPS and feedback).
- Enrollment and persistence targets consistently met or exceeded.
- High faculty engagement with low regrettable turnover.
- Faculty development, retention, and goal attainment.
- Successful site visits, compliance outcomes, and Board of Nursing relationships.
- Effective delivery and growth of the Evening and Weekend Program.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing required; doctoral degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in nursing education, including a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
- Current, unencumbered RN licensure and/or multi‑state privilege to practice nursing in the Commonwealth/State (required).
- Demonstrated strength in interpersonal communication, organizational leadership, conflict resolution, and technology proficiency.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of management.
- Proven ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Thrives in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment, balancing multiple priorities with clarity and focus.
- Strong organizational and time‑management abilities, with a track record of meeting expectations and delivering results.
- A high degree of professionalism, integrity, and ethical judgment.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking, with the ability to interpret policy and guide academic decision‑making.
