Mesa is seeking an experienced (8 to 14 years) BSEE or BSME for a position in Power Substation Physical Design. The successful candidate shall have extensive experience in the field of Power Substation Engineering Design within the US Power industry. A BSEE or BSME from an ABET accredited University is required. The successful candidate will work in an in-office (hybrid basis), collaborative team environment to provide engineering design support for physical design of Power Substations ranging in voltage levels from 34.5K to 500kV. As a Senior Engineer, this individual will be expected to be skilled in all aspects of Physical Substation design and able to thoroughly evaluate Physical design project packages for adherence to standards and for constructability of design. Familiarity with Bentley MicroStation and/or Autodesk Inventor would be considered a plus. Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders at all levels is required. Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer is not required but would be considered a plus.
Education/Experience:
  • A BSEE or BSME from an ABET accredited University (required)
  • 8 - 14 years of experience working in the power utility industry

Responsibilities:
  • Perform Physical Substation design with a high degree of accuracy (Quality)
  • Work well as a team member as well as individually
  • Use MicroStation to create the assigned deliverables
  • Interact with the Customer and meet their schedule and budgeting requirements
  • Mentor junior Engineers/Designers
  • Review work of other team members
  • Perform work safely.

This opportunity is for a hybrid work environment (home and office) and requires residing in the Knoxville, TN area.
