Senior Business Systems Analyst FX Trading

Location: Salt Lake City, UT (Onsite)

Duration: 6-Month Contract

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to lead the strategic evaluation and migration planning for Foreign Exchange (FX) trading operations. The role focuses on analysing the current state, designing migration strategies from the legacy Spectrum FX system, and supporting the transition to a modern FX trading platform.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in the FX trade lifecycle, SWIFT messaging standards, vendor platforms, and hands-on experience with ION FX and Calypso.

Key Responsibilities

  • Migration Strategy: Lead planning and analysis for migrating off Spectrum FX with minimal disruption to trading operations.
  • Platform Evaluation: Assess ION and Calypso platforms for fit against strategic goals and future-state architecture.
  • Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with traders, back-office, and IT teams to document workflows and define business/technical requirements.
  • SWIFT Integration: Ensure seamless integration of SWIFT messaging protocols (MT300, MT103, MT202) with the new platform.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Act as liaison between business units, technology teams, and vendors during RFP, evaluation, and implementation.
  • Process Reengineering: Identify opportunities to optimize the FX trade lifecycle (capture, pricing, risk management, settlement).

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Business Systems Analyst experience in banking/financial services with FX trading focus.
  • Hands-on expertise with ION FX and Calypso platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of FX products (Spot, Forwards, Swaps, Options) and full trade lifecycle.
  • Proven experience in system migration projects; Spectrum FX migration is a plus.
  • Proficiency in SWIFT messaging standards for treasury and FX settlements.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience drafting and managing Vendor RFPs.
  • Familiarity with APIs/microservices integration in banking environments.
