ABOUT THE ROLE:The BSA Analyst I is a foundational, entry-level role responsible for accurate and timely processing of transaction monitoring alerts, regulatory reporting support, and documentation within the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/AML compliance program. This role focuses on rule-based alert review, data validation, and procedural processing activities with low-risk ownership limited to transactional review. The position supports regulatory compliance efforts by ensuring alerts, customer due diligence (CDD) documentation, and reporting requirements are handled in accordance with established policies and procedures.WHAT YOU WILL DO:Reviews and dispositions routine transaction monitoring alerts within the BSA/AML system in accordance with established procedures.Reviews and clears OFAC alerts in strict accordance with documented procedures.Escalates potentially suspicious activity to Tier 2 or management for further review.Maintains accurate, detailed case notes that are audit-ready and fully supported by documentation.Prepares and electronically file Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal procedures (no discretion permitted).Ensures accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all required data fields.Supports regulatory reporting quality control efforts as assigned.Performs initial CDD reviews using member-provided information and core system data.Verifies beneficial ownership documentation for completeness and accuracy.Ensures required documentation is properly obtained, reviewed, and recorded.Identifies gaps or inconsistencies and escalate as appropriate.Maintains organized, complete, and audit-ready files and system documentation.Supports internal audits, regulatory examinations, and compliance reviews through data gathering and documentation requests.Assists with quality assurance remediation tasks as directed.Performs all other duties as assigned by the VP, BSA/AML Compliance. QUALIFICATIONS:EducationHigh School/GED required; completion of college courses and/or associate's degree preferred.Experience/Skills/Knowledge:High School/GED required, completion of college courses and/or associate's degree preferred.Experience/Skills/Knowledge:0-2 years of experience in banking, financial services, or compliance required.Strong attention to detail and data accuracy required.Demonstrated knowledge of laws and regulations impacting the BSA/AML function preferred. Must be able to follow established procedures and rule-based processes.Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills requiredMust have the ability to handle multiple projects/priorities simultaneously with an effective outcome.Must have the ability to deal with highly confidential information.
