Job description

Initiates, plans, executes, monitors and controls, and closes projects according to the project requirements and timeline, all while keeping the project within scope and budget. Assists with scoping and requirement gathering, creates and execute project schedules and oversee quality control throughout the entire project. Also, works with other business units and stakeholders to obtain appropriate resources and manages a team and third-party contractors and/or consultants. Finally, assess project issues and risks, and work with the project team to address these items through to successful project completion.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.
  2. Works with appropriate customers to identify and coordinate new system developments and/or enhancements.
  3. Works with appropriate customers to develop project scope of work documents and project plans that include an analysis of benefit, cost, work schedule and any related risks.
  4. Assigns, schedules, reviews, and monitors and controls project work to ensure that progress is within expected guidelines and is completed on time and within budget. Mentors and provides expertise to other project team members.
  5. Works with appropriate customers to identify the roles of management, departments, project team members, project reporting structures and frequency of interaction and any training requirements that may be needed for a team member to complete a project.
  6. Develops project management artifacts, such as RACIs and Project Plans/Task Lists

Qualifications

     Required:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Six (6) years of experience in a project management role.

OR

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in computer science, information systems, business administration or another related field.
  • Four (4) years of experience in a project management role

Preferred: 

  • 3 year's experience in healthcare/patient care environment
  • Project Management Certification (PMP)
