Job description

Kelly Science & Clinical is currently seeking an experienced Quality Control Lab Technician for a chemical manufacturing facility in Port Neches, TX. The primary role of the QC Laboratory Technician is to conduct chemical and physical laboratory tests on raw materials, in-process samples and finished products and accurately record the test results.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Closely adhere to the established schedule for hourly sample pickup
  • Perform analytical testing of plant samples on an hourly basis including GC, HPLC, viscosity, and various wet chemistry techniques
  • Accurately record test data in laboratory database
  • Perform retesting as needed
  • Advise shift supervision in product quality and testing matters
  • Advise laboratory supervision of laboratory issues
  • Ensure that equipment is functioning properly
  • Troubleshoot and repair analytical and mechanical equipment as time permits
  • Maintain a clean work area
  • Work safely at all times
  • Be available to work overtime as needed to cover vacation, illness, etc.
Job Requirements:
  • AS or BS in Chemistry or related field is preferred, but not required
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an industry laboratory
  • Experience with analytical instrumentation including GC and HPLC
  • Ability to collect samples in the plant in varying climatic conditions (i.e. rain, hot or cold weather, etc.)
  • Detail oriented, a self-starter, ability to multi-task, good work ethic
  • Flexible and able to work well under time pressure
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Able to wear and utilize personal protective equipment when working in designated areas
This is a temp to hire position with a Dupont work schedule, rotating 12 hour day and night shifts, 4-4. If you meet the above qualifications, please submit your resume for immediate consideration. #P1
