Salary: $83,500DESCRIPTION/JOB SUMMARY

To design new products and improve existing products in accordance with Pride’s procedures and protocols, mentor less experienced engineers, and drive continuous improvement within Research & Development (R&D) while mentoring junior engineers and technicians

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

•Design and analyze control systems and electronic assemblies

•Develop Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) and support firmware designs

•Develop, release, and revise electrical drawings and schematics

•Ensure designs are safe, effective, manufacturable, reliable, and Superior Product at Reduced Cost (SPARC) initiatives are met

•Perform inspections, verification, and validation testing

•Meet and fulfill project timelines and budgets

•Travel to domestic and international contract manufacturers as needed for product launches

•Lead by example and assist in the training and development of Junior Electrical Engineers and Technicians

•Serve as technical project lead with outside design partners and suppliers

•Coach and teach advanced skills and techniques

•Assist in continuous improvement of design procedure and protocol to help drive design efficiency

•Assist management in championing change within Pride

•Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents or injuries are promptly reported to management

•Complete the Annual CTPAT Security Training

•Focus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment

•Work effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectations

•Pride retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary

REQUIRED SKILLS

•Must be a self-starter, creative team player, friendly, professional, detail-oriented and honest

Must have the ability to:

•Multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize in a fast-paced working environment

•Use electrical tools (i.e. multi-meter, oscilloscope, soldering iron and crimp tools), hand tools and standard power tools

•Read and comprehend moderately complex work instructions

•Prepare and build prototypes

•Travel domestically or internationally, as needed

Must have:

•Relentless drive to achieve advancement and continuous improvement

•Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills

•Strong working knowledge of software tools for circuit design and simulation (i.e. PSpice, OrCAD Layout, OrCAD Capture, Electronics Workbench)

•Strong working knowledge of circuit/circuit board design per the Association Connecting Electronics Industries (IPC) standards

•Strong working knowledge of Electromagnetic Compatibility/Electromagnetic Immunity (EMC/EMI) principles and techniques for immunity and suppression of electrical noise

•Strong working knowledge of 8,16,32 Bit Microcontrollers, and System on Chips (SOCs)

•Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel

PREFERRED SKILLS

•Advanced working knowledge of software tools for circuit design and simulation (i.e. PSpice, OrCAD, PADS) preferred

•Advanced working knowledge of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEAs) and simulation preferred

•Advanced working knowledge of microprocessors and software development of embedded code preferred

•Advanced working knowledge of DC-DC Converter Design preferred

•Push/pull/lift 40 lbs. preferred

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

•At least 5 years as an Electrical Engineer at Pride Mobility Products Corporation, OR at least 7 years of experience in designing electronic control systems and/or direct design support of electronic assemblies, harnessing, CAD drafting, and hands-on PCB building and prototyping

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

•At least 7 years of experience in designing electrical control systems (firmware preferred) and electronic assemblies preferred

•At least 7 years of hands-on technical experience in an environment supporting design, manufacturing, technical service, and technical processes preferred

•Current or previous successful employment experience with Pride Mobility Products Corporation preferred

REQUIRED EDUCATION

•Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology OR a Bachelor’s degree in Physics or Computer Science with a minor in Electrical Engineering

PREFERRED EDUCATION

•Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
