What is Browser Automation Studio?

Browser Automation Studio (BAS) is a visual tool designed for automating web tasks such as data scraping, website testing, and repetitive actions in browsers. It allows users to build automation scripts without extensive programming knowledge, using a drag-and-drop interface. BAS is popular among marketers, testers, and developers who need to automate web interactions efficiently. The platform also supports scripting with JavaScript and offers multithreading and proxy management features for advanced users.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Browser Automation Studio specialist?

To thrive as a Browser Automation Studio Specialist, you need a solid understanding of browser automation concepts, scripting languages (such as JavaScript or BAS's native Script), and workflow design. Familiarity with the Browser Automation Studio platform, including its modules, APIs, and integrations, as well as experience with related tools like proxies and captchas, is essential. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication skills help you design robust automation scripts and collaborate with stakeholders. These skills ensure efficient development, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automation solutions that streamline repetitive web tasks.

What are some common challenges faced when working as a Browser Automation Studio developer, and how can they be addressed?

To address this, it's essential to use robust element selectors and implement error-handling routines. Additionally, collaborating with QA engineers and staying updated with the latest Browser Automation Studio features can help streamline workflows and improve script reliability. Regular script maintenance and testing are also crucial for long-term success in this role.

Role :Workday Automation Engineer
Location:  Chicago, IL
Duration : until 6/7/2027 with possible extension

Overview
We are seeking a highly technical Workday Automation Engineer to help build and establish an automated testing framework for a newly implemented Workday environment. This is not a traditional QA testing role. We are looking for someone who can design automation solutions from the ground up, recommend best practices, and serve as a technical advisor while partnering closely with HR, Finance, and IT teams.

What We're Looking For
1. Automation Framework Development
Strong hands-on experience building automated testing frameworks from scratch.
Ability to develop scalable regression testing solutions rather than simply executing existing test scripts.
Strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
Experience creating testing efficiencies and automation strategies in enterprise environments.

2. Playwright Expertise
Deep experience with Playwright for end-to-end UI automation and browser testing.
Experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol) or AI-assisted testing frameworks is highly preferred.
Ability to develop and maintain modern automation frameworks leveraging Playwright and related technologies.

3. HR/HCM Domain Knowledge
Understanding of end-to-end HR business processes, including Hire-to-Retire and Hire-to-Pay workflows.
Experience working with Workday HCM modules such as Core HR, Talent Management, and Talent Acquisition is highly preferred.
Experience supporting enterprise SaaS platforms such as Workday, Oracle, SAP SuccessFactors, or similar ERP/HCM systems.

4. Technical Agility
Open-minded approach to automation tools and testing methodologies.
Ability to evaluate new technologies and recommend innovative solutions.
Comfortable researching and implementing modern automation practices rather than relying on a single toolset.

5. Consultative Mindset
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to partner with business and technical teams to understand requirements and recommend efficient testing strategies.
Comfortable working in a highly collaborative environment where the automation framework is being established from the ground up.

Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain automated testing solutions across the Workday ecosystem.
Build and enhance automation frameworks using Playwright and other modern testing tools.
Create automated regression, functional, and integration test suites.
Support Workday releases, enhancements, and ongoing platform updates.
Develop and maintain Workday integrations using APIs, Workday Studio, and EIB.
Collaborate with HR, Finance, and IT stakeholders to optimize testing coverage and business processes.
Troubleshoot automation, integration, and system issues.
Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance across Workday environments.
Document automation frameworks, test strategies, and technical solutions.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
4+ years of experience supporting Workday (HCM, Finance, Payroll, or related modules).
Strong experience with automation framework development and test automation.
Hands-on experience with Playwright, Selenium, or comparable automation tools.
Experience with Workday integrations, APIs, and enterprise SaaS platforms.
Knowledge of REST/SOAP APIs, JSON, XML, and XSLT.
Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development methodologies.

Nice to Have
Experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol) or AI-assisted automation frameworks.
Experience with Opkey, Kainos SmartTest, Katalon Studio, ReadyAPI, or REST Assured.
Workday certifications and advanced Workday integration experience.

Ideal Candidate
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building automation solutions from the ground up, has strong Playwright expertise, understands HR business processes, and can serve as a trusted advisor while helping establish best practices for Workday automation testing.
