Job description
Are you passionate about brownfield redevelopment and finding solutions to complex environmental challenges? We are growing and seeking an environmental professional experienced in the assessment and clean up of brownfields! We are searching for an accomplished, Senior Leader/ Scientist to lead privately and publicly funded brownfield projects in Northeast Ohio.
In support of the Cleveland office, the successful candidate will manage brownfield grant and other site investigation projects, assist with grant applications, grant project scope development, budgets, work assignments, reporting, and compliance of brownfield projects. Review project progress and evaluate technical data for decision making participants internally and our clients. Communicate project approach, findings and recommendations to the Client, regulators, and other stakeholders. Be the communication link between local environmental practitioners for the office and our senior leaders in the Brownfields Group.

B.S. in Environmental Science, Geology or Engineering; M.S. is a plus and a minimum of 8+ years of professional environmental consulting experience.
Demonstrated experience in all phases of environmental investigation and preparation and scoping of investigative and remedial strategies.
Experience in on-site implementation of environmental remedial actions and management or responsible role in oversight of construction activities.
Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.
Experience with spatial analysis and visualization software such as CAD, GIS, EVS, etc., is a plus.
Valid U.S. driver s license.
Preferred Qualifications
40-hour HAZWOPER training.
Willingness and ability to potentially work in unfavorable weather conditions.
Lead and manage brownfield projects, as well as, mentor supporting staff.
Preparation/review of all documents specifically required to include; Remedial Investigation Work plans, Remedial Investigation Reports, Remedial Action Work Plans/Alternatives Analyses reports and associated attachments to these reports.
Develop an understanding and be aware of project-related risk. Be familiar with what could go wrong on a project and how to protect the Company. Be familiar with company risk policies.
Lead safety efforts for team and ensure team follows safety rules and guidelines. Responsible for creating and modeling a safe work environment; demonstrates safety practices. Promote pre-task planning for all projects.
Support and management during the development/refinement of investigation and remedial strategies for various types of sites and contaminants, and the assistance with design and installation of remediation systems.
Working as part of a team on complex regulatory projects involving multiple stakeholders, agencies and professionals.
Assist with proposals and business development activities, including attending conferences and market support activities.
Must be self-motivated with good written and verbal communication skills, willingness and ability to follow directives/ instructions, and interpret technical work both in the field as well as in office situations.
Ability to responsibly work individually as well as being part of a larger team.
