What is brownfield redevelopment?

Brownfield redevelopment refers to the process of cleaning up and repurposing land that has previously been used for industrial or commercial purposes and is now potentially contaminated with hazardous substances. The goal is to safely transform these underutilized or abandoned sites into productive properties, such as parks, housing, or new businesses. This not only addresses environmental concerns but also revitalizes communities, increases property values, and reduces urban sprawl by reusing existing land resources.
