Job description

MLT- Archbold Brooks Hospital Laboratory
Description:
Demonstrate adequate knowledge of the hospital, laboratory and referral facilities computer systems
Demonstrate proficiency in patient specimen collection and test order functions
Demonstrate correct venipuncture/capillary/urine/drug screen collection techniques
Collect all specimens efficiently and timely
Correctly perform instrument maintenance and/or quality control (testing and documentation as necessary)
Comply with all applicable laboratory safety policies and procedures
Will require the ability to function in all areas of the laboratory (i.e. Blood Bank, Chem., Hemo, Coag, Urinalysis, Micro, Immuno)
Handle non-technical, phlebotomy and clerical duties as needed
Experience/Qualifications:
Successful completion of an Associate's Degree from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician Program
MLT certification by ASCP, AMT, AAB or other nationally recognized certification agency
New graduates must pass one of the national certification exams within 18 months of hire
Competency assessment and continuing education in laboratory sciences required throughout employment
Maintenance of certification is required during employment with Archbold Medical Center
Experience as deemed necessary to be accordance with certification by the Georgia Department of Human Resources
