SUMMARY
The Manager, Group Sales Brooklyn Nets will report to the Director, Group Sales Brooklyn Sports and Entertainment and works closely with the Group Sales Coordinator to ensure strong collaboration and alignment on day-to-day operations. This role is also an active member of the larger Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment Ticketing Leadership team, ensuring alignment across departments and organizational initiatives. This role has direct oversight of all Group Sales Account Executives and Senior Account Executives focused on Brooklyn Nets games, events, and related programs.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of Group Sales Account Executives and Senior Account Executives focused on driving revenue and delivering exceptional client experiences for Brooklyn Nets games, events, and programs
  • Create and execute a strategic sales plan focused on:
    • Pipeline development and opportunity progression
    • Campaign performance and theme night initiatives
    • Long-term group sales growth and client retention
  • Establish clear performance expectations and accountability systems, including:
    • Weekly 1:1 meetings with each rep
    • Bi-weekly pipeline meetings to evaluate deals, pacing, and forecasting
    • Daily/weekly activity tracking (calls, meetings, revenue progress)
    • Real-time pacing visibility so reps understand where they stand vs. goals and where impact is needed
  • Monitor and coach team performance through:
    • Call listening and deal coaching to move opportunities to close
    • Funnel and pipeline management, ensuring healthy progression and conversion
    • In-game accountability standards (e.g., ticket sales goals, meetings set, outbound efforts)
  • Actively participate in client-facing efforts by:
    • Running sales meetings alongside reps
    • Supporting high-value or complex deals
    • Lead by example on game days through high visibility, energy, and willingness to go above and beyond, including extended hours when needed
  • Assist in the development and execution of:
    • Group sales products, theme nights, and program variations
    • Renewal, On-Sale & Summer Deposit campaigns and long-term pipeline building strategies
  • Manage Group Sales inventory, including:
    • Seat allocation and holds
    • Accounts receivable (A/R) tracking
    • Forecasting future sales and identifying risk/opportunity areas
  • Partner cross-functionally with internal departments (e.g., Game Presentation, Marketing, Partnerships, International/China Marketing) to enhance group sales initiatives and overall fan experience
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and train new team members when needed in partnership with the Director, Group Sales

WHO YOU ARE
  • 4-6 years of experience in ticket sales, group sales, or sports business, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership or supervisory role preferred
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets, both individually and through team leadership
  • Creates a culture of accountability, clarity, and urgency around revenue goals and pacing
  • High energy, proactive, and hands-on leader who thrives in a live event environment
  • Coaches reps consistently to process, not just outcomes
  • Maintains strong visibility with both clients and team members, especially on game days
  • Drives proactive pipeline management through structured meetings and consistent follow-up
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Builds trust across internal departments to unlock new group sales opportunities
  • Balances strategic planning (e.g., summer deposits, campaigns) with day-to-day execution

COMPENSATION
$90,000.00 - $98,000.00 per year

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The incumbent primarily works in an office environment but is expected to attend Brooklyn Nets games, concerts, and major events at Barclays Center, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Travel Requirements: May be required to travel on rare occasions (<5%); trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay for one or more nights.
