Job description

Bronx House is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Lifeguard/Swim Instructor to ensure a safe and engaging pool environment for our community. This role combines lifeguarding responsibilities with teaching swim lessons for individuals and groups of all ages.
Responsibilities:
  • Monitor pool and surrounding areas to ensure the safety of all swimmers.
  • Enforce pool rules and respond promptly to unsafe behavior or emergencies.
  • Perform water rescues and provide first aid or CPR as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe pool environment, including checking equipment and water quality.
  • Complete incident reports and communicate safety concerns to management.
  • Teach swim lessons to individuals and groups of various ages and skill levels.
  • Demonstrate proper swimming techniques and correct student errors constructively.
  • Track student progress and communicate updates to parents or guardians.
  • Maintain a positive, encouraging, and safe learning environment.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Assist with pool setup, maintenance, and closing procedures.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Promote a welcoming and professional atmosphere for all pool patrons.

Requirements:
  • Strong work ethic and professionalism.
  • Excellent customer service and leadership skills.
  • Comfortable interacting with children, adults, and seniors.
  • Certified or experienced Swim Instructor (WSI preferred).
  • Certified Red Cross Deep Water Lifeguard required.
  • Punctual and reliable.
