Job description

Bronx House Summer Camp Counselors will be responsible for managing campers daily during activities and on field trips. This position runs 7 ½ weeks from June 30-August 19. Mon-Fri, 8 am-5:30 pm. Highschool graduates and up. 

Salary: $2,750 for the summer.
Job Details: 
  • Ensure that age-appropriate activities are implemented for youth, grades 7-10.
  • Build positive relationships with campers and staff.
  • Actively engage with campers while they are participating in the activity.
  • Encourage youth to participate in all available activities actively, promote respect and teamwork.
  • Prepare campers for Bronx House culminating activities and events/performances.
  • Provide a safe, structured environment for student learning.
  • Attend all required trainings/meetings.
  • Maintain appropriate use of equipment, reporting necessary maintenance and updates regularly to the Unit Leader.
  • Accompany and supervise students on field trips.
  • Interact with parents and keep open lines of communication to better understand and manage children.
  • Participate in the total camp program including, late or overnights, all-camp events.
