The Position:
The Instructor Trainer's number one priority is on teaching, coaching, and training the aquatics program at British Swim School. They ensure that all instructors are knowledgeable and confident on teaching the lessons, and able to be in the water as required themselves. This position may also assist with tracking required certifications for instructors as well as continuing the employee's development and competency and skills.
Your Typical Responsibilities:
  • Follow British Swim Schools curriculum to ensure safe and competent lessons.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with students' parents and/or guardians.
  • Teach British Swim School lessons with encouragement and positive reinforcement.
  • Teach and train new instructors on the British Swim School aquatics program.
  • Maintain certifications throughout employment.
  • Work evening and weekend hours as determined by business needs.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to instruct swimming lessons within a structured program.
  • Willing to undergo a background check.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Comfortable in and around the water. Previous swimming experience.
  • Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Certification(s) preferred but not required; will consider training.
  • Experience working with children.

Our instructors should like working with this age group and be good at making parents feel comfortable. It's helpful if you have experience with children or in a child-focused job, but it's not required if you can show the right attitude. The job comes with specialized training in our advanced and unique British Swim School approach.
We also have exciting opportunities with our Customer Service Team, even if you're not in the pool. These are the people committed to providing the best service in the industry. In these roles, you might talk to parents on the phone or by the pool. Wherever you are, the aim is to make everyone feel like part of the British Swim School Family as we focus on ensuring the "Survival of the Littlest."
