JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design and plan in accordance with applicable design specifications. Projects may include various bridge types such as steel plate girder, prestressed concrete girder and reinforced concrete slab structures.
  • Conduct structural analysis to ensure the strength and safety of highway structures
  • Prepare structural designs and contract documents including drawings, specifications, and estimates
  • Participate in preparing project budgets and schedules
  • Perform calculations for designing bridges and transportation structures using AutoCAD and/or specialized bridge design software

Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A copy of transcripts must be submitted with resume
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a structural major or emphasis
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or specialized bridge design software
  • Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with co-workers and clients, both in verbal and written form
  • Knowledge of Prestressed Concrete is preferred
  • Knowledge of layout and design of bridges and highway structures is preferred
