CNC Stone Machine Operator – HELIOS CNC

Classic Stone Gallery – Tampa, FL
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Competitive hourly rate based on experience
Benefits: Available for full-time employees
Schedule: Full-time

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced CNC Stone Machine Operator who can operate a Helios CNC machine for countertop and stone fabrication.

This is a great opportunity for someone who understands stone production and wants to join a growing company with steady work, quality equipment, and room to grow. We are especially interested in candidates who have experience with the Helios CNC, but we will also consider strong operators with experience on similar CNC stone equipment, including bridge saws, CNC routers, sawjets, or waterjets.

Programming experience is a strong plus. Candidates who can both operate and program the CNC stone machinery will be considered for higher compensation.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a Helios CNC machine, including hybrid cutting, routing, polishing, shaping, and fabrication functions.
  • Set up material properly, including loading, positioning, securing, and preparing slabs or pieces for machining.
  • Read job layouts, shop drawings, digital files, templates, work orders, and fabrication notes.
  • Run CNC programs accurately and efficiently to produce countertops, sink cutouts, edge profiles, seams, miters, and specialty fabrication work.
  • Inspect finished pieces for accuracy, quality, finish, and compliance with job requirements.
  • Set up and maintain tooling, blades, pods, vacuum systems, water systems, and related machine components.
  • Make adjustments as needed to improve quality, accuracy, and production efficiency.
  • Communicate with shop management, programmers, templaters, installers, and fabrication team members.
  • Help troubleshoot machine, tooling, setup, or program-related issues.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and handle stone materials carefully to avoid damage or injury.

Preferred Experience

  • Hands-on experience operating a Helios CNC machine is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with CNC stone fabrication equipment such as bridge saws, sawjets, waterjets, CNC routers, or similar machines will be considered.
  • Experience fabricating granite, quartz, quartzite, marble, porcelain, sintered stone, and other countertop materials.
  • Ability to read measurements, shop drawings, templates, and fabrication notes.
  • Understanding of tooling, feeds, speeds, edge profiles, sink cutouts, polishing, miters, and CNC stone fabrication workflow.
  • Ability to identify quality issues and make corrections before material leaves the machine.
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work in a production shop environment.

Programming Experience

  • Programming experience is preferred but not required for every candidate.
  • We are especially interested in candidates who can:
  • Program or modify CNC files.
  • Review and adjust toolpaths.
  • Make minor edits to existing programs.
  • Troubleshoot program, tooling, or setup issues.
  • Optimize machine workflow and production efficiency.
  • Work from digital templates, drawings, or fabrication files.
  • Candidates with true operator/programmer experience will be considered for higher compensation.

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay based on experience and ability.
  • Higher compensation potential for candidates who can both operate and program.
  • Full-time opportunity with steady work.
  • Benefits available for full-time employees.
  • Modern equipment and a growing shop environment.
  • Opportunity to grow with the company.
  • Supportive team and management that values skilled operators.
  • A company focused on quality, craftsmanship, efficiency, and customer service.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is someone who knows how to run CNC stone equipment confidently, takes pride in quality work, understands the importance of accuracy, and can help keep production moving efficiently.

If you have experience with the Helios CNC, we want to talk to you. If your experience is with similar stone CNC equipment, we may still be interested.

How to Apply

Please apply with your resume or a brief summary of your CNC stone fabrication experience. Include any experience you have with CNC operation, CNC programming, bridge saws, sawjets, waterjets, routers, or countertop fabrication equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour

Benefits:

  • Health insurance
  • Paid time off
  • 401 K

Application Question(s):

  • Tell us about your hands-on experience with stone fabrication machines most relevant to a Helios CNC

List each machine by manufacturer/model if known, such as Poseidon T-Rex, Park Titan/Fusion/Saberjet, BACA Robo SawJet, Breton, CMS/Brembana, Intermac, Denver, Omag, Prussiani, CNC router, sawjet, bridge saw, waterjet, or edge polisher.

For each machine, briefly include how long you ran it, what materials you cut, and what you personally handled: loading, slab layout, vacuum pods, tooling, cutting, routing, miters, polishing, CAD/CAM, programming, QC, calibration, maintenance, or troubleshooting.

Please specifically say whether you have run a hybrid workflow where one machine cuts, routes, miters, and/or polishes.
